Channel Marker Lantern – Distressed Blue

European style classic nautical channel marker and dock lamp used on pylons and docks for hundreds of years. Many still in use today.

Distressed blue painted steel with glass Fresnel lens. Hand machined heavy gauge steel lamp with factory installed electric light kit. The Fresnel lens is made to magnify the light to be visible for many nautical miles at sea or across the bay.

When used as an actual channel marker a RED or GREEN light would be installed to mark the safe area to sail in. (Note the Marine chart insert below of the Baltimore Inner Harbor).

When used on a ship or dock a 360 degree while light would be used.

This lamp or its mate in distressed white would make an excellent light for evening gatherings on your deck or patio at home or on-board yacht or boat, or to give a maritime flavor in a bar or tavern. Made to withstand the weather year-round.
