Brass Anchor Lamp
Solid Copper and Brass Anchor Lantern – High Quality.
By far the most popular lantern in our inventory in solid brass.
The classic Anchor Lamp used on sailing ships for hundreds of years. Our solid Brass Anchor Lamp is hand machines in heavy-gauge brass with copper trim. The Fresnel style lens is made to magnify the oil lamp light to be visible for many nautical miles.
The Anchor Lamp is named for it’s use. A 360 degree white light is required to be displayed at the highest point (the tallest mast) of all vessels at anchor or under way at night. These oil burning lanterns were made to be lit and hoisted up to the top of the mast with one line (rope) tied to the bail (handle) and two lines (ropes) through the brass guides on each side to keep it from swaying as the ship rolled with the sea. Can burn up to 7 hours before refilling..
Since we strongly suggest that you NOT burn oil in it we have installed a battery operated LED Tap Light with batteries included on top of the burner. You can use it right out of the box. Can be easily removed if desired.
You can also order an Electric Light kit for regular A/C 120v operation.
Approx; 12 inches tall with the bail (handle) down.
