Antique Copper Port (Red) and Starboard (Green) Oil Navigation Lamps.

Our classic antique copper navigation oil lamps are replicas of lamps required on all vessels underway (moving) at night.

The left side of a vessel is called the “Port” side and requires a red light while the right side is called “Starboard” and requires a Green light.

These lamps are hand machined steel and plated in an antique copper finish with a heavy clear coat to inhibit rust. The heavy Fresnel style lenses are made to magnify the small oil lamp inside.

However, they are shipped with an LED tap light with batteries included so they can be used right out of the box. They can also have an electric light kit installed in each for safer use.

These are very popular lamps for ones deck or tavern or on each side of ones driveway for a great nautical décor and effect.

Lamps such as these were used on sailing ships for hundreds of years and some are still in use today on sailing ships worldwide. You can see the example in the photo below.
