This is the
standard workhorse of the North Atlantic fishing industry.
These sturdy
boats are used by commercial fishermen from Nova Scotia to
the U.S Southern Gulf Coast, Europe and Alaska.
Some are shrimp
boats, some are drag boats for haddock, cod, whitefish and
tuna. Some are shrimp boats like the one used in the
movie Forrest Gump. Some are lobster boats and some
are even used for oceanography work.
These are the
boats that feed us our seafood every day. So the next
time that you order a lobster dinner remember where it came
from.
Our model is
styled after the standard 53' 1970's wood hull fishing
trawler. It has been exquisitely hand crafted and
finely detailed with small lobster traps and cotton rigging.
It even has plank decking and car tires that can be thrown
over the sides as bumpers.
Measurements:
18" long from bow to stern. 5-1/2" wide and 15" tall from
the stand to the mast top.
