Copper Port & Starboard Lamps - Off

These are the classic copper navigation oil lamps required on all vessels that are underway (moving) at night.  The Left side of a vessel is called the "Port" side and requires a Red light while the Right side is called the "Starboard" side and requires a Green light.   Thus when passing another vessel can quickly tell which side one is looking at and the general direction it is traveling.

Our Solid Copper Red and Green  lamps are hand machined medium gauge pure copper with a heavy glass "Fresnel" style lenses that magnifies the light from the oil lamp inside to be visible for 20 nautical miles.

Lamps such as these were used on sailing ships for hundreds of years and are still in use today on sailing ships worldwide.
