Standard Mint
Julep Recipe.
Start by making
some
Mint Simple Syrup.
1. cup sugar
1. cup water
1- - 12 fresh mint sprigs
Boil sugar & water in a med. saucepan.
Boil for 5 min. until sugar dissolves. (Stir often).
Remove from heat; add mint and let cool. Pour into a
glass jar, cover and chill for 24 hours.
(Or just go to
the store and buy some Mint Julep mix.)

Ingredients.
3 - 4 fresh mint leaves
1. Tablespoon of Mint Simple Syrup
Crushed ice
1-1/2 to 2 tablespoons (1 oz) bourbon
1. Cocktail straw
1 Fresh mint sprig
Powdered sugar (optional)
Place mint leaves and Mint Simple Syrup in the chilled Julep
Cup. Gently press leaves against cup with back of a
spoon to release flavors. Pack cup tightly with
crushed ice; pour bourbon over ice. Insert straw and mint
sprig and serve immediately. (Sprinkle with powdered sugar
if desired)
